AP European History
The AP European History Exam is approximately 3 hours and 5 minutes
long and has two parts — multiple choice questions and free response
questions. Each section is worth 50% of the final exam grade.
The multiple choice section contains 80 questions and is 55 minutes long. The free response section contains 3 questions, is 1 hour and 55 minutes long (plus a mandatory 15 minute reading period for the document-based question) and consists of 2 parts (Part A and Part B). Part A contains 1 document-based question and lasts 45 minutes. Part B contains 2 thematic essay questions and lasts 70 minutes.
